I arrived here in Vegas for Photoshop World but since I didn’t sign up for any pre-cons, I decided to get away from the craziness of Las Vegas Blvd. and head to one of my favorite escapes, Red Rocks Canyon. Red Rocks is just a short 20 minute drive from the strip but it feels like it’s worlds away. It’s loaded with hiking trails and geologic wonders that never seem to get old. The weather today was perfect for a short hike so I grabbed my camera gear and headed for some much needed R&R on my favorite trail into Ice Box Canyon. There isn’t any water running this time of year but the high desert landscape never seems to disappoint.

I processed a few images and now it’s time to grab some sack time before heading out for tomorrow’s keynote and the first day of classes. I am totally psyched to see all my NAPP friends and make some new ones. More from the conference tomorrow.
Like Father, Like Son -
Last night when I called home to chat with the family, my oldest son told me that he had created a blog and he wanted me to check it out. He did it all himself and I have to say that I am pretty impressed. He was even checking his blog stats to see if he was getting any visitors. I told him that might take a little time but if you get a minute, you can check out his blog and give him a thrill. A word of caution though, it’s pure 13 year old boy so don’t go looking for any photo tips. http://dormatt.wordpress.com
