Today is Martin Luther King day here in the USA. It’s a day to celebrate the life and accomplishments of Dr. King and the principles which he believed in, most importantly, equality for all mankind. Not a bad thing to believe in if you asked me. One of the places that will see a lot of foot traffic on this day is the MLK memorial in Washington DC. It is located along the Tidal Basin directly across from the Jefferson Memorial. It is also one of my favorite monuments on the mall and is especially nice at sunset, when the light paints a great swath af warmth down the side of the monument.
If you find yourself in the Washington DC area, be sure to take a little time and visit this great new addition to the sites along the National Mall, and don’t forget your camera.
