It seems like it has been a long time coming but it’s finally time to charge the camera batteries, pack the needed camera gear, and hit the photowalk trail. As you might have read, I am hosting one of the 1337 photowalks that make up the Scott Kelby 5th Annual Worldwide Photowalk. This is in fact my fifth year to host one of the photowalks and I am excited to be leading mine in my home town of Manassas, Va. Of course I might just be excited about the fact that I don’t have to get up at the break of dawn this year but that just means I will have more energy for the event. I have checked the weather and, even though it is only going to be about 61 for a high, it’s supposed to be a beautiful day.
I have created a Google+ Event Page (LINK) for my photowalk where my walkers can add photos and live comments right from the walk or add them after we are done. If you want to follow the action around the World, you should check out the main WWPW G+ page (LINK). I’m really curious to see how much interaction there will be on Google+. I’m kind of excited to be able to share things with the world in real-time on G+. Of course I’m sure there will be plenty of Facebooking and tweeting as well.
For an added twist, I am going to try capturing some video/time lapse stuff using my GoPro HD Hero2 camera with my new WiFi Bacpac. I just got the BacPac and I am looking forward to using the new GoPro iPhone app to set it up and control it. I’m not sure what the final product will be but I’m hoping it’s interesting enough to share with you.
Just as a reminder for any of you who might be photowalking for the very first time. I have a complete guide to photowalking that covers most of the questions that you might have. Be sure to give it a read before heading out tomorrow.
If you are taking part in a photowalk tomorrow, be safe, have fun, and take great photos. I can’t wait to see them!
