Topaz Labs Introduces a New Product

Topaz Labs, makers of some of my all-time favorite Photoshop and Lightroom plug-ins has just announced that they are going to be releasing a new product called photoFXlab. There is not a whole lot of info on it right now but it looks to be a one-stop-shopping program to access all of the Topaz plug-ins from one environment but with a few twists. Apparently there is a thumbnail pane that lets you preview effects from all of your Topaz programs on your image without having to actually open the individual plug-ins. It also has the ability to apply selective adjustments using an adjustment brush that has smart edge awareness, similar to the adjustment brush in Lightroom. It also has the ability to layer and mask adjustments for completely new creative effects.

There are a lot of other little perks in the program and Topaz is going to be giving some sneak peek webinars to show them off tomorrow. The webinars will take place at 2:00 PM and 5:00 PM EDT tomorrow, May 25th. If you are interested in watching and perhaps winning yourself a free copy of photoFXlab, you will need to sign up at the Topaz Labs registration page. I’m really looking forward to seeing what else these creative folks have up their sleeves.

  1. I have used Topaz before with Photoshop. It is an amazing tool to use, but best of all it was free! Not sure if it’s free nowadays, but I use it quite extensively, it adds some amazing effects to the photos. I would highly recommend it.

  2. I have every topaz plugin and even though I don’t use them all I will add this one too.

  3. Is this more user friendly than adobe? And what are the system requirements for this software to run properly?
