I’m hanging out today at my buddy Scott Kelby’s Light It, Shoot It, Retouch It seminar. I was also out kind of late last night hanging out with Scott, Brad Moore, and his Seminar model and her Mom so I’m not going to be doing any lengthy blogging tonight. Instead, here’s some noteworthy news items that you might have missed.
Hang with Foodie Photog – Nicole Young
To help celebrate her new book, Food Photography: From Snapshots to Great Shots, Nicole will be hosting a Peachpit Photo Club on December 13th from 5-6 PM EST. A new website from NatGeo –
National Geographic has been bringing the world to us in meaningful stories and photos for decades and now they have launched a new website that is sure to appeal to photographers and lovers of great imagery. The website is called The Photo Society and it’s dedicated to bringing you the photos and the stories behind them from the photographers who bring them to life. A New Book for Designers –
Corey Barker’s new book, Photoshop Down and Dirty Tricks for Designers is finally hitting bookstores around the country. I can’t wait to get my hands on a copy because Corey is a freak of Photoshop nature when it comes to design and I am really looking forward to learning a ton of design tips and tricks. If you want to get yourself a signed copy, you should quickly head over to the Kelby Training website and order a freshly autographed copy while supplies last.
500PX releases Lightroom Plug-In –
This is very cool. No longer will I have to export images from Lightroom to a folder and then upload to my 500PX collection thanks to a new plug-in. The new plug-in adds a 500PX option to the Publishing Services section in Lightroom. If you aren’t sure about how to install and use a publishing service be sure to check out RC Concepcion’s helpful video tutorial on YouTube. Cleaning your Tripod –
When is the last time that you gave any thought to cleaning your tripod? If you are like most folks, the answer is probably never. If that’s the case, you should check out this great guide to tripod cleaning from Varina Patel. An while you are there, be sure to check out her fantastic photography.
