Here’s a quick mid-week look at what’s goin on around the photo universe.
Canon T3i Hits the Shelves -
I was skimming around some of my daily web feeds when I noticed a post on Canon Rumors that said the Canon T3i was now in stock at B&H Photo. Of course I hopped right over and put in my order so that I can get started on my next book. There were some other locations that had limited numbers of cameras but they were also charging above retail (shame on you 17th St Photo). If you want to snag one of B&H’s T3i cameras just follow this link.
LensBaby Announces the Sweet 35 -
LensBaby, the folks that specialize in those great bendy lenses with selective focus and bokeh, have introduced a new lens, the Sweet 35. The Sweet 35 Optic, compatible with the Composer, Muse, Control Freak and Scout lens bodies, produces a sweet spot of focus surrounded by a smooth, gradual blur. The Sweet 35 Optic provides photographers with even more creative freedom to capture their vision in camera by dialing in the sweet spot quickly and seamlessly, in the moment. You can find it at Amazon and B&H Photo.
New Photography Video Podcast Airs Next Week -
My buddies Scott Kelby and Matt Kloskowski are kicking off a brand new show next week and it’s different from anything they have done in the past. The Grid (that’s the name of the show, like you didn’t already figure that out) will be broadcast live this coming Monday at 12:30 Eastern, which means that you will be able to send in your comments and questions for the guys in real-time. Each week there will be new photography topics to discuss and even some special guest appearances. Don’t worry if you are unable to tune in live because the entire show will be available for viewing after the fact. You can tune in at http://kelbytv.com/thegrid/
Lightroom Training for Beginners –
Are you new user of Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 3? Are you wondering just where to begin? Well then, you need to check out this training video from my friend Terry White. There are a lot of Lightroom learning sources to be found on the web but this video is strictly for beginners. Terry knows this stuff inside and out so you can rest assured that once you finish watching, you will be much more prepared to start putting Lightroom through its paces. You can find Terry’s training video on his blog, Terry White’s Tech Blog.
PhotoWalkPro Recommends -
I wanted to leave you today with a recommendation of a blog that is worth a look, especially if you love to travel. Gary Arndt loves travel. He loves it so much that in 2007 he began his travels around the world and he’s still going strong. He is also an avid blogger and photographer and his blog is always full of great stories about the sites and people that he meets along his journey. Be sure to check up on his adventures at Everything-Everywhere.
