Photowalk Update – Festival of Lights

I know that many of you have been waiting for more details on the holiday photowalk at the Festival of Lights so here is what I have so far. The photowalk will take place on Saturday, December 18th. It will begin at 4:30 PM and last until we are too cold to take any more pictures. Actually I figure that we will shoot for a couple of hours, which is just about right.

The sunset for that day will be about 4:48 PM with the twilight ending at 5:18 (according to the US Naval Observatory), which is why I want to get started about 4:30. It will hopefully be a colorful sunset, which will add to the color of the lights.

This won’t be a photowalk in the traditional sense because there isn’t a set course for us to follow. We will just move from vantage point to vantage point, photographing the beautiful lights and the temple from a lot of different angles around the grounds. If you have always wanted to learn about night photography, this will be an excellent opportunity to learn how it’s done. I’ll be sharing some tips and tricks for those interested so don’t feel like you have to be a professional to join in. The photowalks are for people of every skill level and camera type. The only requirement is a good attitude.

I have created an event for the photowalk over on my Facebook fan page with information but signing up is not a requirement for attending. Look for more information both here and on the Facebook page as we get closer to the event.
