My Latest Book is Out This Week

I was just over at Amazon and noticed that my latest book is due to be available on December 29th. It’s called Exposure: From Snapshots to Great Shots and I am really excited about it.

So here’s the scoop, all of my previous books have been centered around specific camera models. Back when my first book for the Canon 50D came out my buddy Mike said something to me that kind of stuck. He said that if I took out the camera specific info, it would be a great general book on photography. Well, it only took 5 more books but it’s finally done.

So here’s the scoop on the new book. It’s all about learning the basic mechanics of photography. It starts off with a discussion of the different elements that create the exposure process. From there it moves into controlling those elements. In the chapters that follow, I move into specific shooting genres, situations, and subjects, with lots of helpful hints on how to go about capturing the best images in each circumstance. The book wraps up with what was a bonus chapter for my previous books called “Pimp My Camera”. In it, I discuss some of the accessories and additional gear that will help to improve your photography.

So for all of you that have been asking if I am going to write a book for your DSLR, now you don’t have to wait. Just grab a copy of my Exposure book at Barnes & Noble, Amazon, Borders, or wherever photography books are sold.

      I’m not sure about the Kindle option. They don’t really tell me which books are going to be available on that platform. The best I can say is that you will just have to wait and see. I’m not a huge fan of my books on the black and white versions of the Kindle because it’s just hard to see the pictures in all their glory. Color Kindle apps, such as those available for the computer and iPad, do a much better job in displaying the content. The other issue I have is that the books were not created for a digital platform so some of the pages don’t appear as they do in the book. The downloadable pdf format, such as the one available from Safari books looks pretty much like the book.

    I went by Borders in Springfield, VA yesterday, and it they said they have few on order. I reserved my copy, and can’t wait to start reading it! Are you going to be doing any book signings Jeff?
