Catch-Up Monday

My blog meltdown last week put me a little behind schedule and I didn’t get a chance to write my usual Thursday update post.  So here’s a few things going on.

The Canon 7D book -

I spent most of this past weekend working on my Canon Rebel T2i / 550D book, which should make my editor happy. This brought to mind several emails that I have received about whether or not I will be writing a book for the Canon 7D.  The short answer is no.  The good news is that there will be a Snapshot to Great Shots book for the 7D.  It is being written by Nicole Young, a very talented photographer from Utah.  If you are a twitter user, you might know her as @nicolesy. There is no official release date for her book but it is available for pre-order at your favorite bookseller.

Speaking of my T2i Book -

Not to sound too self promotional here but I did notice that my book now has a cover.  I sent in a bunch of images for the designer to work with and they picked one and have completed the cover design.  As usual, they did a great job.

New Oxford Photowalk -

My buddy Andy Smith is hosting a photowalk in New Oxford, PA on June 5th. The photowalk will kick off at 10:00 AM and will plot a course through some of the historic homes and shoppes in this historic town.  For more information be sure to check out Andy’s website, VR Photowalks.

A Photowalk Interview -

Last weekend I spoke with a reporter from the Washington Examiner.  She wanted to do a quick interview with me about photowalking.  It’s a pretty quick read, since it is part of their 3-Minute Interview series but I think I managed to hit the highlights.  You can read the interview online at the Washington Examiner website.

Discount on Photoshop Elements 8 -

For a limited time, Adobe is offering a $30 discount on Photoshop Elements when you buy from the Adobe online store.  The regular price is $99 US but through this offer you can get $10 off and a $20 discount, which brings the total price down to a sweet $69.99. Elements 8 is available for both Windows and Mac but you need to hurry if you want to take advantage of this offer because it ends May 10th.

That’s it for today, have a great week and I’ll see you back here tomorrow.

Comments

  1. Thanks for sharing the info on the photowalk, Jeff. Greatly appreciated!

For D.C./Virginia photowalkers, it’s an easy drive. Head north on 270 and straight onto 15 up to Gettysburg. New Oxford is just a few minutes east on the Lincoln Highway (Route 30.)

  2. My T2i should be arriving today so I’m looking forward to making the most of it.
Is there an eta on the book?

I’m went with the T2i to serve as a B video camera but I’m sure I’ll be taking a still or two.
