I had a whole post planned for today but my WordPress has gone plain crazy. As I type this, I can’t even see the words so I am just typing onto what looks like a blank screen. a blank screen. It’s kind of crazy and it looks like I will now have to spend my whole weekend trying to figure out what the heck is going on. I wonder if my buddy RC is doing anything this weekend.

Anyway, I hope that you have a great weekend filled with lots of fun and no blog issues to resolve.

-Peace

For some strange reason my #Wordpress admin pages have gone completely bonkers. There goes my weekend. http://bit.ly/4QVlyd

Wordpress 2.9 had some wonkiness going about it for a little bit there. They’ve released 2.9.1 and that should solve most problems – it appears some instances of the LAMP environment (Linux-Apache-MySQL-PHP) with certain versions of SQL running were affected, and the update to 2.9.1 should fix most things. Last I heard from the WordPress camp, the SQL issues that were known had been addressed. As always though, YMMV

I had the same issue with one of my installs. Updated to 2.9.1 – no joy. The threads show about 9 workarounds. I found installing FCKeditor worked for me. I bet your formatting icons were gone too (Bold, underline, italics, etc).

You need to invest in a Mac __Lot less trpuble!!!

I’m using a Mac, that wasn’t the problem. The problem was that my blog page had become infected with malware, which would try and infect any visitors with a trojan. It would have happened no matter what operating system I was using.

I feel for you – two of my WordPress sites got hacked/infected a few weeks ago. What a pain. How did you fix yours? I basically did a fresh install & restored the databases.

Basically downloaded all files and scrubbed them. The malware had spread to over 1000 files. What a pain in the butt. Lucky for me I have a buddy that was able to help. He did it all in Dreamweaver.

  5. Had a similar event several years ago on my old blog. In the end, my hosting service had come under major attack, and continued to so I moved providers. 1.5 years later, no malware issues. I will say, ran into some 2.9 WordPress problems, but nothing on the order that you’ve just gone through!

Hope you have no further troubles. It’s always annoying when these problems come up!
