Late last week I received a package from my friends at Nikon that will help me to usher in the next installment of the Snapshots to Great Shots series of camera/photography books from Peachpit Press. That’s right, I am working on another Nikon book and this time the D3000 will be the focus of my efforts. The D3000 was one of the top selling DSLR cameras this past Christmas and hopefully this book will provide the knowledge and guidance that new camera owners need to start improving their photography.
When I started writing this series of books, I wanted to make sure that I didn’t just focus on the camera’s technical aspects but instead, how to leverage the technology towards making great photos. It is my hope that, by teaching photography techniques along with the camera features, the reader will not only be able to get better use out of their new camera but any camera they use. A little knowledge can really go a long way.
I’m looking to have the book wrapped up and in to my publisher by the end of February but I’m not sure when the actual release date will be. I’ll be sure to let everyone know once the book is ready for pre-orders. As usual, you will be able to find it at Barnes & Noble, Amazon, Borders, and Peachpit.com.
Even though it was a lousy day for taking pictures today, I did manage to stand on my back deck between the showers and the drizzle to take some shots of the robins that, for some reason, came to my backyard in droves. I used the D3000 with a 70-300mm VR lens.
