A little while back I was contacted by Rob Jones of Towner-Jones Photography about a request he had from Chris Sterns.  Chris is a really great guy that I met at my photowalk in Boston this past spring during Photoshop World.  It seems that Chris had come up with the idea of raising money for the Walk4Hearing fund raising event to be held on October 25th in Boston.

Chris has been hearing impaired since he was 18 months old and back in 2005 he suffered a severe loss of hearing in his right ear.  In 2006 he received his first Cochlear Implant, which was very successful.  He then received his second implant in 2007 and is hearing more than ever before.  Feeling blessed by his implants, Chris was inspired to raise funds for the Hearing Loss Association of America by participating in the Walk4Hearing fundraiser. He also wanted to do more than just walk so he came up with the idea of selling photographs to help raise additional funds.

This is where I come in.  With the help of Rob and Jason Moore of Jason D. Moore Photography, Chris reached out to several photographers to have images donated for auction.  I was honored that they asked me for an image donation and was more than proud to have one of my images included in the auction items along with such folks as Dave Cross, RC Concepcion, Matt Kloskowski, Laurie Excell, Roger Madsen, Stephen Zeller, Ivan Makarov, Rob Jones, Jason Moore, and of course, Chris Sterns.

The winner of each auction will receive an 11×14 print of their image donated by the great folks at MPIX.

Please check out the special auction page being hosted by Towner Jones Photography to see all of the images up for bid as well as all of the information on how you can place your bid and help out this great cause.

And just in case you were interested, here is the image that I donated to the cause.  Heck, I’ll even throw in an autographed copy of one of my Snapshots to Great Shots books (your choice) to the person that wins my photo.
