I’m still out and about but I wanted to drop in a quick post with some news updates. Last night I watched a new class on Kelby Training by my good fried Dave Cuerdon. Not only is Dave an amazing retouching artist, he’s also a real sweetheart of a guy. Dave’s new class is called Fantasy Portraits. In this great instructional piece, Dave walks the viewer through the entire process of creating beautiful portraits based on fantasy characters such as fairies, angels, and even a few vampires. Starting with the actual photo-shoot, Dave will walk you through the steps necessary to create these great fantasies with such lessons as masking and outlining, creating backgrounds, creating feathers and wings, even making fairy dust. Everything is laid out in step-by-step fashion with great detail and even includes downloadable images to help you with your own creations. If you have a desire to take your portraits to a different place, I highly recommend you check out this great new class available on Kelby Training.
Photowalk T-Shirts
I wanted to remind everyone that the official t-shirt of the 2009 Worldwide Photowalk is available for purchase online. All of the profits from the sale go to help Scott Kelby’s favorite charity, the Springs of Hope Orphanage in Kenya. My buddy Rob Jones from Towner Jones Photography is spearheading this effort and with the day of the photowalk fast approaching, you will want to get your order in soon. You can order your shirt (there are two great designs available) by clicking here.
Joe McNally’s One Day Workshops
Hey, check out Joe McNally’s latest blog entry. He has some great images from his latest one-day workshop and as always, Joe can’t help dropping a little photo knowledge to go along with some of his great images. Joe is a phenominal instructor who’s anecdotal stories help to reinforce his creative use of light and environment to create truly stunning images. If you ever have the chance, I highly recommend that you attend one of Joe’s classes. It will change the way you look at your camera’s flash unit.

I watched the entire set of David Cuerdon’s fantasy tutorials over two nights (almost four hours total), and I gotta say that this is one of the best training classes ever offered by Kelby Training! As Jeff said, every step is explained in detail, from shooting the model to final image. I have big plans for the granddaughter!
It’s definitely a must-see for the fantasy fan.
