Hey everyone, I was just informed that Barnes & Noble is running a new in-store/on-line promotion for the month of June. Starting tomorrow and running through the 30th, the good folks at Barnes & Noble will be selling certain Peachpit titles for 30% off. Featured in the promotion are books from my buddy Scott Kelby, David duChemin’s new Within the Frame, and other great titles. Oh yeah, my Canon 50D book is also included (c’mon, like you didn’t see that coming). If you are in the market for some great new books to add to your creative library, make sure you stop by your local B&N or just point your browser to their website to get in on this deal.
Camera Raw Update -
Before I sign off for the day, I want to thank blog reader Michael Preston for giving me the heads-up about the new Adobe Camera Raw 5.4 that is available over at the Adobe Labs site. This new version addresses the RAW processing needs of several new cameras including the Nikon D5000 and the Canon Rebel T1i. If you are wondering why it’s over at Adobe Labs instead of the regular Adobe Update site that’s because it’s probably not quite ready for prime-time. Adobe Labs is kind of a beta site for new software, updates, and other cool stuff. I haven’t had any problems with it but that doesn’t mean there isn’t a little bug in there somewhere. Once Adobe certifies it, it will be moved to the regular update location. If you care to give it a whirl, you can find it here. It’s available for both Windows and Mac. By the way, this release is only good if you are using Adobe Photoshop CS4.
