If you read my blog with any frequency you have probably seen the name Brian Auer.  Brian runs the extremely popular and informative Epic Edits blog for photographers and photography hobbyists.  Not only that but he is also one of the co-hosts of the PhotoNetCast podcast.  PhotoNetCast is a roundtable type discussion panel with hosts from around the world of photogaphy who discuss the relevent photo topics of the day.  As you can see, Brian is a pretty busy guy but with all that’s going on, he still has found the time to create a great new online project that will not only benefit anyone that uses Photoshop and Lightroom, but also lets you, the Photoshop/Lightroom user, give a little back to the community as well as possibly get a little something for yourself.

So here is the deal, Brian is trying to develop a repository for very cool Photoshop Actions and Lightroom Presets.  This collection will be free to everyone to use, like open source software.  Why?  Because Photoshop and Lightroom users such as yourself will be populating the pool with your Actions and Presets that you have developed for your own workflow.  So here is the prize part.  If you submit your action or preset by January 2nd, you could win one of 10 different prize packages from Brian’s new sponsor, Make Light Real, a developer of Photoshop Actions and presets.  All you have to do to be considered is submit your own action or preset as defined on the Epic Edit projects page.  Even if you don’t win one of the very cool prizes, it is still a very “Holiday Spirit of Giving” sort of thing to share your actions with others.

To read all about the Action and Preset Extravaganza project, head on over to Epic Edits and start sharing your mastery with the masses.
