Your son has a wonderful eye. I'm sure you'll help him culture it.

My oldest son has his own camera. Now, it's not a D80 and it says Fisher-Price on the front, but I am impressed with some of his compositions. The camera isn't great, but it is wonderful to see the world from the viewpoint of a four-year-old.

Those are some nice shots. My youngest son has also developed an interest in photography and has taken over my last camera when I got my D60. He now is taking pictures at school fundraiser functions to raise money for school activities. They have done photo booths and other shots of school stuff like dances and costume parties. He has even started shooting videos with the camera too.

Kids and cameras make a great match! We have 3 kids and the 5 of us often get out and shoot. It's a great way to deepen the bonds, have something to talk about, and have fun together! In fact, this month we're featured in the Hagerman Featherless Flyer - here's a shortcut http://www.friendsofhagerman.com/
Great photos from your son too! Keep him encouraged and help him along when he asks for it, you'll never regret it! We haven't!

Impressive. That is very cool that your kids are taking an interest. It looks like he's got a natural eye for composition. Hopefully its something he continues to find enjoyment from. BTW Happy Birthday Jeff!

Jeff - it only gets better with your kids. All of my boys, one now 44 and the other two in their 30s, are photographers. It's a wonderful surprise the way that things we do with them when they are young become their own passions. It seems to me that the key is their being in control of their own journeys.

Jeff,
Good for your kids and lucky for you. It's always fun to bring family into something you enjoy. You're building great memories for them. I'm frequently joined by my son-in-law when I go shooting, and we have a blast....course he's older than 12 ;-) We both enjoyed Harper's Ferry.

Wow, he took some great pics! Fascinating to see the perspective from a youngster, how he sees the world and what is interesting for him.

That's one of the things I love about photography - it's a great family obsession^H^H^H^H^H hobby ;-)

I often take my older kids (now aged 8 and 10) with me, and they love taking photos.
