♦ – Thanks to everyone for all the great response on my Lightroom 2.0 tutorial.  I didn’t realize how much it was going to help everyone but I am certainly glad it did.  I don’t often do Lightroom tutorials because I figure everyone gets there fill from Matt Kloskowski’s most excellent Adobe Photoshop Lightroom Killer Tips site.  If you haven’t checked it out before and you are a Lightroom user, you are really missing out on some great instructional material.  Matt posts tips and tutorials and even presets for you to download.  It is always on my daily reading list and I’m guessing it will be on yours too.

♦ – Speaking of Matt’s blog, I was reading it earlier this week when I saw that HDRSoft has released a new beta of their extremely popular Photomatix Pro software.  Everyone knows what a huge fan I am and I use their software almost exclusively for creating my HDR images.  The new beta appears to have some nice new features such as noise reduction, new Highlight and Shadow adjustments, plus quite a few bug fixes from the last beta.  But here is the best part, they are now offering a plug-in for Lightroom that is compatible with version 2.0.  Now you can go straight from Lightroom to Photomatix Pro with just a click of the mouse.  This will definitely cut down on my Adobe Bridge use.  You can find out more information on the beta as well as the plug-in by clicking here.  I guess I will have a couple of new tutorials coming soon.

♦ – While we are on the topic of new software products, Topaz Labs has introduced a new noise reduction program they like to call Topaz DeNoise.  Topaz is the same company that produces the Topaz Adjust image processing plug-in that I wrote about.  I haven’t had a chance to try it out but at the moment it is only available for Windows (I am sure the Mac version will be here soon).

♦ – Finally, I was checking my Google Alerts today and saw a link in from the College of Southern Nevada.  It seems that my Process Your HDR Images Using Photoshop tutorial is on the resource list for their week 9 lesson plan on HDR processing.  How cool is that?  My thanks to Professor Heather Protz for including my tutorial in her Digital Photographic Imaging 2 course curriculum.
