Today I have a quick video that will walk you through the process of adding the new Photomatix Pro plug-in to Lightroom 2.0 and then how to use it to get images into Photomatix and then back to Lightroom after tonemapping.  It’s not a perfect solution but it is better than previous workflows.  The new Photomatix Pro beta is pretty sweet too and accessing it from Lightroom is very smooth.  The problem lies in getting the processed HDR image back into Lightroom.  For more on this, check out Matt Kloskowski’s blog yesterday (link).  He launched a pretty good discussion about this very issue.

Also new today is my screen capture software.  It’s not actually new but an upgrade, thanks to Terry White.  The software is called iShowU HD and it just kicks butt.  When you watch the video, you will notice that my keyboard shortcuts now appear on screen as well as my click locations.  I have just started using it but I already like it more than the older version.  The downside is that I am going to have to stop reading Terry’s blog because I always seem to end up lighter in the wallet.

Have a great weekend!

Jeff – The video says that it is no longer available when you try to play it.

My only comment about your new software has to do with the expanding circle of your click location. I saw it first when Terry White used it on his tutorial on PhotoshopUser TV. It was quite distracting then and I’m afraid it’s also still distracting in your tutorial. I’m probably the only person that is distracted by it, but maybe not. Anyway, I still enjoy your blog and any videos you post. Thanks.

Thanks for the feedback Dave. I haven’t decided on the fate of the click bulls eye. I used it in this tutorial as a test to see how it would look. It is sometimes difficult to see where I am clicking in the tutorial videos so I thought this might help. What I don’t like is the duration of the circle. It lasts much too long for my taste. The one thing I am pleased with is the keyboard shortcuts that pop up on screen. I’m a big fan of using speedkeys and I think this will add to the tutorials.

    Jeff
