As the temperatures start to drop my attention turns to the soon to be changing fall foliage of the Shenandoah…and photowalking.  I don’t have a location as of yet but I have been thinking of making a haul out to Harper’s Ferry. As I start to flesh out the details I will post them here. If anyone has any suggestions, please drop me a comment. Until then, here is one of my trademark “blue sky” shots from this past weekend.

Would love to go to Harper’s Ferry for a walk.
As for suggestions – since we’re talking about a short jaunt to the west – how about Charlottesville or Luray? Culpeper, Warrenton, or Middleburg if you don’t want to travel too far. Just some ideas to answer your question.
Count me in and give me a call if you want some help.

Oooh Harper’s Ferry is very photogenic. I can’t remember if the train tunnel along the river is walking distance from the historic site area downtown, but would be good to include. I photographed the area 7 years ago and would love to do it again with my improved equipment.

  3. Harpers Ferry is on my list as of now already to go do some photowalking, it’d be great if there was a group to go with. The tunnel as mentioned is an awesome area to get some unique shots! I look forward to more details! I heard that the peak for leaves will be in about 10 days there, so maybe sometime around then would be most colorful!

Harpers Ferry offers such a diverse opportunity. From the actual town, to the convergence of the two rivers, and the canal. It would provide many different ideas.

Harpers Ferry is a great choice, count me in!! Just remember the weekend of October 26 is PhotoPlus in NYC, I am going to spend at least one day there, don’t know if Friday or Saturday, but won’t sleepover. Maybe some of us can meet there too!

Jeff, Just say when. You know someone needs to be there to supervise Roger. The fall weather should be perfect for another nice day with friends and cameras
