Well, it took a day for me to recover but I have to say that the 1st Annual World Wide Photowalk was a smashing success! I had a complete blast meeting so many wonderful people that came out to share the almost perfect morning and afternoon with me. Each of my walks had their own great moments. The morning walk was surprised by the Farmer’s Market that was set up on our route and provided some great photo-ops. The afternoon group got some wonderful late day sun on the waterfront, mixed with street performers, parrots, and even a bride and groom. I even had my share of celebrity walkers as DC Photographer Shawn Duffy and author and Photoshop World instructor, Rich Harrington, joined in on the photowalks. The afternoon walk was even more special for me personally because my youngest son came with me, camera and all. He had a great time and on the way home, asked me when the next photowalk was going to be because he wanted to go. How great is that?

Since the walks have been over I have spent countless hours approving photos for the Flickr groups as well as reviewing photos from all the other walks that took place around the world. Our last tally before the photowalks began was something like 8017 photowalkers in 47 countries and 236 cities. It truly was World Wide and a first for the photographic community. I just can’t wait till next year. Did I say that?

Here’s a couple of shots from my photowalks. If you would like to see all of the images uploaded so far, check out the Flickr groups. Click here for the morning walk and here for the afternoon session.

Hey Jeff! Thanks again for putting this together! Great job! I think everyone had a great time!

I wish I got to see everyone before we left but we had a prior commitment that required us to leave right at 11.

I look forward to the next walk!

    Take care!

I was the leader of the Costa Rica group and this was the first time participating in a photowalk for everyone in my group. Since we all enjoyed the photowalk they want to have another one organized so that’s something I’ll be working on.

And now to choose the best photo which is sure going to be difficult…
