After several months of Beta testing, Adobe has finally released the full version of Adobe Photoshop Lightroom Ver. 2.0.  I have been using the beta for quite some time and I have to tell you that if you didn’t get in on it then, you will be blown away with some of the great new features that have been incorporated with this new version.  Adobe has included so many new features and updates to old ones that it’s no small wonder why Scott Kelby had to do a complete re-write of his Lightroom book.  Every single panel has been updated, from the Library to Web page creation but my favorite new feature has got to be the retouch tool.  It will just blow you away!  Head on over to the official Lightroom site to get the full scoop (click here)

I wanted to give an update on the World Wide Photowalk because there was a little confusion yesterday.  Many of you that went to the website noticed that there was a photowalk listed for both Washington D.C. and Old Town Alexandria.  The fact is that they are one in the same.  When Scott and I had originally discussed the photowalk idea, I said that I would run the one for DC.  Anyone from this area knows that we claim the entire region as the DC area so I chose Old Town Alexandria as my actual photowalk site.  So when I passed this along, it was listed as a separate city.  Alexandria is its own city but it’s just across the river from DC so I am counting it as the DC area.  Anyway, Scott was notified about the double listing and had his crack team jump right on it so that the two sites will be combined as one.  So you should know that if you want to sign up for the DC photowalk, it will be held in Old Town Alexandria.  Also, the last time I checked there were already 43 people signed up so if you want to participate in this walk, hurry over to the registration page and get yourself signed up.  Also, Stacie Morris will be hosting the Baltimore Photowalk so if you can’t make mine, make sure you try and get in on hers (you can find her sign-up page here.)

    Thanks for the heads-up Jeff.

    I do not have Lightroom, but was happy to see that ACR 4.5 was also released today. The addition of camera profiles (which work just fine with PE6) made my day! Great that the D40 is supported and I can play with those D2X profiles that Nikon only made available for the top cameras (even though they are not the real thing…)

    The Registration page and the Cities section of the World Wide Photowalk site still have ‘Washington, D.C.’ and ‘Alexandria (Old Towne), Virginia’ listed separately.

    Washington, D.C. = 46
    Alexandria = 14

    Total: 60 so far
