I went to Georgetown earlier today to scope out my intended photowalk route and I could have shot there for hours.  It was a pretty nice day and there is just no shortage of subject matter to choose from.  Check out the slideshow below from my shoot.

These are some awesome photos! I wish I was able to make the photowalk… Unfortunately, that’s the day I return to the States from a business trip and I likely won’t be up for it after a sixteen hour flight. I’m looking forward to seeing everyone’s photos, though!

Thanks Shawn. I was hoping that you would be able to make it but trust me, I understand all about the long flights. Coming home from Dubai really kicked my butt! Hopefully we’ll catch you on the next one.

Sounds like a good time, Jeff. Looks like you got some keepers. I’m also in the area and eagerly awaiting the next photowalk. Hope to meet you and everyone else soon.

Hey it looks like you’ve picked out a great spot. I’m really looking forward to it. I think the last time I was in Georgetown was maybe 1973.

Great pictures and very good composition. Did you go by yourself or is it a group thing?

    Paulo,
The photos from Georgetown were from a solo trip I took this weekend in preparation for the group Photowalk. It always helps if I can get a sense for where the photowalk will go and how long it will take to walk the whole route. If I happen to get to take some photos along the way, then all the better.

Great shots Jeff. I’m really looking forward to this photowalk since I missed the last one.

    Jeff… Thanks for the answer….
So… When is the photowalk? Do you charge for that? Can you give me a little more explanation how you do it?
    Thanks

There is no charge for the photowalk Paulo. I am just organizing the photowalk so that everyone has a route to follow as well as a starting time and location. As we get closer to the date, I will post the route, the place to meet, and the starting time. On the day of the event, we will gather as a group and then begin our photowalk through the Georgetown area, following the route that I have set up. It’s not required to stay with the group but that is the point of the photowalk, to share the experience with others. As we walk through the area, everyone will be taking photos of different things we see along the way. When we finish, we will grab a bite to eat at a local spot near the end of the route and hang out for a while. Afterwards, everyone loads their images from the day onto the Flickr group page that I will set up for the event. If you would like to check out the images from the previous DC Photowalk, you can look here: http://flickr.com/groups/dcphotowalk/ Also, if you would like more information on photowalking, check out my previous post on the subject. It gives a full rundown of everything you need to know. You can check it out here.
