Time for another update from the Dubai traveling road show.  We started the day with a sunrise shoot of the Burj Al Arab hotel from he shores of Jumeirah Beach.  After the shoot we came back to the hotel for some breakfast and so Scott could get ready for his teaching gig with Adobe.  Jeff, Scott’s brother, and I headed off on our own to check out the Spice Souk on Dubai Creek.  A souk is a marketplace and they have several of them here.  We spent the afternoon weaving our way through the narrow alleys of the Souk until late afternoon when we headed back to hook up with Scott for a sunset shoot at Dubai Marina.  It wasn’t boats we were after but the skyscrapers that line every square meter of the area.  It is such an incredible explosion of high-rise buildings that  is almost impossible to explain.  It just has to be seen.  I have heard that 30% of all the tall cranes in the World are located here in Dubai and that might even be a low number from what I witnessed last night.

This morning we were up at 3:30 AM to catch a ride into the desert where Scott and his brother took a hot air balloon ride at sunrise across the Dubai desert.  I shot from the chase vehicles, which was also a kick.  We are now hunting for our afternoon shooting spots so I will hopefully have some stuff to look at tomorrow.

All are invited to go via photos and my new blog. My first post is “throw momma off the boat”. Yea, that right, my 90 year old mom and me are going to panama canal for 10 days. As she refers to me; her 732 month old son, “kennyboy”.

Why Panama canal? You gotta know my mom. So I hope to post from the ship as often as possible

    Mosquitoes and all
