Later Saturday afternoon, after we finished up at the photowalk, Scott, Matt, and I headed on over to a couple of the museums on the National Mall for some architectural photography. The first stop was at the fairly new National Museum of the American Indian. I had not seen the building since the majority of its construction took place after I had stopped working in DC. I have to say that I was just blown away by its design. It is one very cool building with its curved walls and water gardens. I will definitely be coming back here sometime soon. We only stepped inside for a moment but that too was a real treat and not what I had expected to see.
From there we wandered ovet to the National Portrait Gallery. This one has been around for awhile but it is still a pretty cool design with its angular walls and acute angles. It’s always fun to point a camera at this one.
By this time it was getting late so Scott and Matt jumped into a cab and headed off to the airport and I started walking back to my car. Some wicked clouds started rolling in and the winds really started to whip up so I didn’t waste anytime getting to my ride. But I did have to stop along the way to get these last two shots.

So you did go to the tourist spots after all! Seriously though, looks like the whole thing went great. I wish I could have been there.
