As the holidays near, I can guarantee two things, 1. I will not have a white Christmas if I buy my kids a sled, and 2. I will get asked what kind of digital camera should be purchased for a gift. Now every now and then, someone will slip in a question about what video camera they should purchase and usually I don’t have an answer. Leave it to the video guru, Mr. Rod Harlan to help me out with this one. Now, instead of giving a vacant stare, I can give a URL that points right to Rod’s blog and particularly to his article on the best sub-$500 video camera to purchase this year. Unlike the answers that I give when asked about cameras which are usually proceeded by me having to ask tons of questions to narrow down what type of camera they really need, Rod makes it simple by giving us one answer, the Sony DCR-HC96 Mini DV Camcorder. To see why, go check out his article. And if you need to find out which digital camera you need to buy, shoot me an email and we’ll kill a couple of hours trying to narrow it down to 5 or 6 choices.
