Another batch of orchids came into the office on Thursday which means you get to see orchids on Friday. They were shot on a black background with a single softbox and a white reflector card. The camera was a Nikon D2Xs with an AF Micro Nikkor 55mm f/2.8 lens. The lens was one of the first auto-focus lenses from Nikon and while it wasn’t readily accepted due to its plastic feel, it is actually one heck of a micro lens, better than the 60mm macro that came afterwards. Some of my results can be seen below. Click on the images to see larger versions and then scroll down for more Friday (actually, really late Thursday night) postings.

OK, the flowers are beautiful. Is that ok for a guy to say? Anyway you need to print those on that new/old printer of yours. That will be a good test of your color management skills for sure. The D2Xs should have enough pixels to make a full bleed 13×19 on some Luster….sweet!!!
